Silent Temples

Silent Temples is an audiovisual collaboration between me and my friend and colleague, multimedia artist Augustinas Našlėnas. The projects draws inspiration from Baltic culture and symbolism alongside the wonderful places of nature we grew up wondering out and about around our hometown Gargždai in Lithuania.
The audiovisual surround sound installation features a 15-part, 1 h 20 min looping visual component created by Augustinas consisting of surreal nature-inspired landscapes and magickal sigils based on ancient Baltic symbolism. The accompanying soundscape soundtrack was composed by me. All audio material was recorded between 2018-2019 in the same places where primary pictures were taken for the visual part. They were then meticulously shaped and transformed into the final surround sound composition. No samples, synthesis or external sound sources were used during the project.
